Food Bloggers Unite: Great American Bake Sale
I just love it when I get to combine two of my favorite activities: cooking with kids and community service. Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale is coming up, and this year we are all in for something special. On April 17, 2010, food bloggers will be hosting bake sales across the nation to raise funds to fight childhood hunger.
We are gathering bloggers from all over the country to help lead and organize bake sales in their area. We could use some additional help, especially if you don’t see your region represented here. A quick kudos to those who are participating already:
Alaska – Laura from What’s for Dinner Mom
Arizona – Janet from La Due Crew

Kids love to Bake! These delish chocolate-cherry cookies are from Cooking Light. Click for the recipe.

You can help to organize the event for your state or you can grab your kids and bake up some tasty treats (We just made some fantastic cookies from Cooking Light. Click on the pictures of my daughter cooking for the recipe). Simply contact the person in charge of your region and let them know that you’d like to get involved. If you see a void in your region that you’d like to fill, please contact Gaby (from What’s Gaby Cooking), our fearless leader: whatsgabycooking (at) gmail (dot) com .

Hi Ladies,
So happy you are interested in participating. Tiffany – you should contact Maria. She is listed under Utah. Marissa, you should contact Kelly, above.
If their bake sales aren’t in your area, you can easily start your own. Here is a blog post filled with tips that I found useful during my first few bake sales:

Keep me posted, and please share your stories and photos along the way!
