Our 2nd Annual Great American Bake Sale is Approaching
After nearly a month of planning, it is hard to believe that our 2nd annual Great American Bake Sale is coming this weekend! Sunday will be a whirlwind of events – our 4-H group will be selling home-made animal treats at Olompali Heritage Day in the morning and our school community will gather at Victor Jones park for our Music for the Hungry event in the afternoon. Entire families will sprawl on the grass to listen to music performances from parents and children and eat BBQ + delectables from our bake sale.
I feel blessed to be able to teach families how to use food and cooking as a means of performing community service.
- Our 4H group worked together to bake and bag hundreds of dog, cat, bird and horse treats. Not only did they improve their cooking and cooperative skills, but they felt a fantastic sense of accomplishment, knowing that they will make a difference to hungry children in our community.
- Our Music for the Hungry event will celebrate the musical talents of our local parents and children, while bringing the community together to raise awareness of childhood hunger in America.
Here are a few photo highlights of our preparations…

What cute photos (looks like everyone had a great time)! I really enjoyed this glimpse of all your behind-the-scenes contributions to the Great American Bake Sale and hope sales go well at both events. Have fun!
